It started as a way to help those informal caregivers out there of the daily challenges when your parent has Alzheimer’s disease….

After a 20 years of being an informal sandwich generation caregiver to my mom, that journey ended when she passed away early 2020. After being in that role for so long and balancing being a parent and parenting a parent, I lost myself. The Self-love is a journey on rediscovering yourself and the importance of that journey. The book Self-Love what they forget to tell you is an introduction to that journey. In my counselling practice I help others understand the importance of that journey as well. Sean- my co-host is a current client who openly discusses how therapy has assisted in his journey of self-discovery. So in these podcasts we talk about the importance of mental health in our pursuit of ending the stigma of mental illness. My goal is to make mental health affordable, accessible and effective.
